When the stormy or negative thoughts come rushing in, push your pause button and breathe. Wait. Breathe. Be present with yourself and be present for yourself.

Take time to calm the seas of your mind. Take time now to practice by slowly reading the following lines and then notice how you feel.

Be

Be still

Be still and know

Be still and know that

Be still and know that I am

Be still and know that I am God

Be still and know that I am God is with you

When life isn’t going your way, breathe and visualize the peaceful placid sea.

Then when your mind and body are calm and your thinking is clear, respond to the people or situation around you. Or maybe just listen and be like a reflecting pool.

“I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,

I can see all obstacles in my way.

Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.

It’s gonna be a bright, bright sun shiny day.”
